Carl Chapin Logemann

Carl Chapin Logemann, 50, of Lancaster died on Monday, March 24, 2008 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He has now given the gift of life to others through organ and tissue donation. He was born in Freeport, Illinois on October 27, 1957, the son of Stanley and Jean (Chapin) Logemann. He was raised in Stockton, Illinois and Monroe, Wisconsin. He attended Stockton Elementary and Middle School. Carl was a 1975 graduate of Monroe High School and a 1979 graduate of UW-LaCrosse with a BS in Education. He received his MSEd from UW-Platteville in 1992. He was a beloved teacher for his entire career. He taught Physical Education for the Dakota School District from 1980-1981. He then taught physical education, health, and driver education in the Gilmanton School District from 1981-1986. He has been teaching health and physical education for the Lancaster School District since 1986. Carl was an adored coach of football, basketball and baseball. His love for basketball was his identity and he was affectionately known by his players as C Loges. Carl has been a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bulls his entire life. This love led him to his summer job as a driver for Tri-State Tours in Galena, Illinois.

On August 6, 1982 he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Mary Kathryn Mary Kay Klarer at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe. They lived in Eau Claire, Mondovi, and have been a part of the Lancaster community for over twenty years. Carl was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2820 and the Wisconsin Basketball Association.

Carl dedicated his life to his students and to his wife and two children, Jonathan and Teresa Logemann. Carls greatest joy was being a dad and a great dad he was. He enjoyed coaching his children in basketball, softball and baseball and was their greatest fan. Jonathan is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Teresa is a student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

Carl is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary Kay, his loving children, Jonathan and Teresa; his mother, Jean Logemann of Stockton, Illinois; his brothers and sister: Bill (Anne) Logemann of Bellevue, Iowa; Lynne (Kerry) George of Ankeny, Iowa; Elaine Enriquez of Stockton, Illinois; and Clark (Martha) Logemann of Rockford, Illinois. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law: Fr. Michael Klarer of Monroe; and Patrick (Mary Alice Harris) Klarer of Verona; and his sister-in-law, Ellen (Mike) Malkow of Monroe. He was a favorite uncle of his nieces and nephews Jeremiah Logemann, Christopher George, Jessica Zabel, Eli Logemann, Andrew Logemann, Jennifer Malkow, and Christopher Malkow. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Logemann in 1974.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with his brother-in-law, Fr. Michael E. Klarer, Fr. William Seipp, Monsignor Thomas Baxter, and Father Kent Schmidt officiating. The visitation was held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at St. Clement Catholic Church from 4:00 8:00 p.m. Private family burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Monroe.

LaVerne O. Lolwing

LaVerne O. Lolwing, age 81, of Potosi, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. He was born December 8, 1931, in Hazel Green, the son of Arano and Cecelia (Bausman) Lolwing. LaVerne served his country in the United States Army. On May 23, 1953, he married Joyce Scheppele at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dubuque, IA. LaVerne worked in construction in Dubuque, IA, until 1956. He then began farming in the Yellow Stone Lake, Darlington and Potosi areas. LaVerne also was a Deputy Sherriff for Grant County and served as Potosi Police Chief for eight years. He was a member of St. Andrew Thomas Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Law Enforcement Association, Lions Club, 40 & 8, and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post No. 473 of Potosi. LaVerne enjoyed playing Euchre and spending time with family and friends.

LaVerne is survived by his ten children, Pat (Chuck) Williams, Seneca, SC, Tom Gopher Lolwing, Montfort, Joe (Annette) Lolwing, Lancaster, Suzanne (Dave) Spindler, Beaver, PA, Robert (Kim) Lolwing, Potosi, Edith Edie (Gene) Hinderman, Potosi, William (Sarah) Lolwing, Lancaster, Joyce (Steve) Roling, Cuba City, Jen Phillips, Seneca, SC, and Sheri (Troy) Hugill, Potosi; 17 grandchildren, Phillip, Bobbie Jo, Stacey, Jennifer, Emily, Chealsey, James, Eric, Katie, Payton, Paige, Justin, Amanda, Ryan, Alexa, Lucas and Abbigail; seven great-grandchildren, Bradly, Cameron, Jayden, Devon, Declan, Drake and Lyvea; his brothers: Alfred (Mickey) Lolwing, Scottsdale, AZ, Mello (Marie) Lolwing, Hazel Green; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce in 2006; his parents; a granddaughter, Amey Lolwing; and a great-granddaughter, Addison Laack.

Pamela S. Lolwing

Pamela S. Lolwing, age 53, of Bagley, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2009, at Prairie Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, December 5, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington with Father Bart Timmerman officiating. Burial was in Bagley Cemetery, Bagley. Friends called on Friday, December 4, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington and from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday.

She was born on August 16, 1956, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Schumann) Lester. Pamela attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Hempstead High School in Dubuque, IA, in 1975. On August 13, 1988, Pamela was united in marriage to Dennis A. Lolwing at the Arboretum in Dubuque, IA. She was employed in the medical field as a secretary, clerk, registrar and most recently, with the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. Pamela was employed with the Finley Hospital in Dubuque, IA for twenty one years in various departments. She also worked for Dodge Street Anesthesiologists PC, United Clinical Laboratories, starting her work experience at the Dubuque Boys Club. Pamela took great joy in baking and distributing her goodies to neighbors and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Lolwing, Bagley; her siblings: Rick Lester, Dubuque, IA; Robert Joe (Judy) Lester, Epworth, IA; Tina (Rick) Tittle, Dubuque, IA; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon, and a brother, Jeff.

Denny and the family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Gunderson Lutheran Hospital and Clinic in LaCrosse and Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital and Gunderson Lutheran Clinic in Prairie du Chien for their loving care, thoughts, prayers and cards. Edith E. Long

Edith E. Long, age 98, of Prairie du Chien, formerly of Bagley, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien. She was born June 12, 1909 in Patch Grove Township, WI, the daughter of Frank and Elta (Pendleton) Ellis. Edith graduated from Patch Grove High School. On January 17, 1927, she married William Long in Dubuque, IA. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1951. Edith served as the treasurer for the Town of Wyalusing for 22 years. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and watching hummingbirds. Edith was a wonderful mother and great grandmother and dearly loved her family. Everyone enjoyed Sunday dinners at Grandmas.

She is survived by four children: Donna (Richard) Kaufman, Prairie du Chien; Dorothy Lester, Dubuque, IA; James Long, Bagley; and John (Carol) Long, Potosi; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one sister, Florence Kozelka, Prairie du Chien; a daughter-in-law, Madonna Long, Prairie du Chien; a son-in-law, Charles Enke, Prairie du Chien; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Donald Long; two daughters: Irene Enke and Darlene Long; five brothers: Burr, Herbert, Donald, Clifford, and Oscar Ellis; and her sister, Frances Pankoff.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington with Pastor Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial was in Union Nagle Cemetery, Patch Grove Township. Friends called on Saturday, March 22, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Rudolf E. Rudy Long

Rudolf E. Rudy Long, age 53, of Glen Haven died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at his home. He was born on April 7, 1954, in Germany, and was an only child of Rudolph A. and Helma K. (Jantzen) Long. He graduated from high school in Granby, MA and married Donna Ertel on December 18, 1978. He was a retired major in the U.S. Army. Over the years, he was stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Ft. Meade, Maryland; Ft. Devens, Massachusetts; and Seaford, Delaware. Rudy was currently employed as a lean manufacturing engineer at MPC in Prairie du Chien. He loved to play drums, ride his Harley, ride ATVs, and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Long, Glen Haven; a son, Matthew (Jennifer) Long, Cascade, IA; his mother-in-law, Ruth Ertel, Prairie du Chien; sisters-in-law, Diane (Bryon) Meyer, Verona; Joyce Mumm, Beetown; and Teresa (Kurt) Jaynes, Prairie du Chien; aunts and uncles: Guy Long and Monica McCarthy, both of Hartford, CT; and Clairette Meagher, Mooers Forks, NY; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ryan, who was killed in action in Iraq on April 3, 2003; both parents; his father-in-law, Patrick B. Ertel; and brother-in-law, Joseph B. Ertel.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Glen Haven with Father Jim Warosh officiating. Burial with military honors was Gockel Cemetery, Glen Haven Township. Visitation was held on Monday from 9:00 a.m until the time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials to the Ryan Long Scholarship Fund are appreciated.

Frances B. Lorenz

Frances B. Lorenz, age 85, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2009, at the Lancaster Care Center, Lancaster. She was born in Platteville on February 25, 1924, the fourth of five daughters born to John and Lucile (Farr) Buser. Fran graduated from Platteville High School in 1941. On April 17, 1948, she was united in marriage to Robert Lorenz at the First Methodist Church in Platteville. They were blessed with a daughter, Mary Lucile on October 19, 1949, who died in infancy. The couple was married nearly thirty years before Roberts sudden death in 1976. Fran was employed for over sixty-seven years by the Grant County Abstract Office and worked until just a few months ago. She was an active member of the Bethlehem Evangelical and Reformed Church of Lancaster. Fran loved reading, working, watching old movies, traveling and spending time with her family. She was known for her smile, her laugh, and her love of life and was dearly loved by many.

Fran is survived by her many nieces and nephews, to whom she was a second mother and grandmother. They include: Victoria Krohn, Verona; Cheryl Bingham, Mt. Horeb; Judith (Robert) Drousth, Madison; Steven (Laura) Hall, Brooklyn; John Munson, Lancaster; Nancy (Rick) Sedbrook, Potosi; great nieces and nephews: Bryan Bingham, Sarah (Craig) Jordan, Jason (Deanna) Bingham, Margaret Krohn, Amy (Andy) Pennekamp, Steven Sedbrook, Nicholas Drousth, Alexander Drousth, Natalie, Nicole and Nathan Hall; and ten great-great nieces and nephews. She is further survived by four nieces and a nephew on Roberts side of the family.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bob, her daughter Mary Lu, and her sisters: Margaret (Howard) Spiegel, Dorothy (Wilmer) Corlett, Elizabeth Bette (George) Hall and Carol (Douglas) Munson.

Funeral services were held on Monday, September 21, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bethlehem E&R Church in Lancaster with Rev. Mark Dieter officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends called on Sunday, September 20, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster and from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church on Monday. The family suggests memorials be given to the Bethlehem E&R Church or the Bethlehem E&R Church Window Fund.

Margaret Lorenz

Margaret C. Lorenz, age 100, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa. Margaret was born on January 1, 1915, on the family farm in Buena Vista, IA, the daughter of Frank and Catherine (Hauck) Adams. In her teen years, she moved to Lancaster and married Max Lorenz in 1936 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dubuque, IA. Margaret was a hard worker and had a variety of jobs over the years, such as waitressing at the Rainbo Grill, factory work in Dubuque, and custodian work at the R.E.A. Her main job was raising her six children. She loved gardening, boating and camping with her family. Margaret sang in the choir at church and enjoyed playing her organ at home. She was a wonderful cook and her apple pies were the best.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Max, her parents, four brothers, two sisters, and two great-grandsons.

Survivors include her six children: Sally (Carl) Lickel, Potosi; Max (Judy) Lorenz, Dubuque, IA; Pat (Kay) Lorenz, Prairie du Chien; Jim (Usa) Lorenz, Nashville, TN; Mary (Larry) Duncan, Lancaster; Dan (Rosalee) Lorenz, Prairie du Chien; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren.

Matt J. Lorscheter

Matthias Matt J. Lorscheter, age 85, of Cassville, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012, at his home after a long illness. He was born on April 25, 1927, in Cassville, the son of Francis Bink and Eva (Breuer) Lorscheter. Matt attended St. Charles grade school and graduated from Cassville High School in May 1945. He enlisted in the United States Army in June and was stationed in Berlin Germany. After returning from the Army, Matt attended Bayless Business College in Dubuque and then worked for various businesses in Dubuque and Des Moines. On June 20, 1972, Matt was united in marriage to Grace (Hore) Knox. In 1989, he retired from Dairyland Power Plant in Cassville after thirty-four years of employment. Matt was actively involved in the VFW Post No. 7080 and the American Legion Post No. 352 of Cassville. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labors with family and friends. Matt also enjoyed dancing, playing cards, hunting, fishing, feeding the birds, making wine and traveling. One of his most memorable trips was the Honor Flight of Greater Dubuque to Washington D.C. on October 19, 2010. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of forty years, Grace Lorscheter, Cassville; his daughter, Lisa (James) Steffl, Watertown; three step-sons, to whom he was Dad: Chad (Joan) Knox, Seattle, WA; Brian (Mary Anne Hansen) Knox, Lancaster; Scott Knox, Schaumburg, IL; a sister, Sr. Eva Marie Lorscheter, Lancaster. He was grandpa to three step-grandsons: Justin Knox, Stillman Knox, and Brandon (Marlea) Knox. He was also a great-grandpa to Brandon and Marleas daughter, Haylie Grace Knox.

Matt was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial with military honors was in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Donald Losch

Donald W. Losch, age 67 passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 at Meriter Hospital in Madison. He was born September 28, 1948 the son of Dorman and Genevieve (Sherwin) Losch. Donald graduated from Lancaster High School in 1966. He farmed on the Losch family farm in Little Grant Township. Donald was united into marriage to Sherry L. Clauer on July 21, 1973 at St. Clement Catholic Church. After the sale of their farm in 1978 Donald and Sherry moved to Lancaster, and Donald bought and sold livestock. He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church. Donald enjoyed most sports, especially football and stock car racing.

Surviving is his wife Sherry, their children, Derek (Niessa Enloe), Michelle (Aaron Oates), and Brian Losch, a granddaughter Kylie Martin, two sisters, Beverly Fishnick and Rosemary (Mark) Wolf, many nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a nephew Dennis Fishnick.

Genevieve M. Losch

Genevieve M. Losch, age 93, of Lancaster died Friday, February 29, 2008 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born on March 2, 1914 in Lima Township, WI; the daughter of William and Cordelia (Holzer) Sherwin. She attended Franklin School in Lima Township through the eighth grade. After her mothers premature death, Gen raised her siblings and took care of her father until her marriage. On February 5, 1934, she married Dorman Losch in Galena, IL. The couple settled on his fathers farm in Little Grant Township and farmed there for 44 years. She belonged to the Stitch & Chat Sewing Club in Little Grant for over 40 years. After her husbands death, Gen moved to Lancaster. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the CCW. Gen enjoyed her card group, senior citizens pot lucks, and playing bingo and cards. She was also a wonderful baker and homemaker.

She is survived by three children: Beverly Fishnick, Donald (Sherry) Losch, and Rosemary (Mark) Wolf, all of Lancaster; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren; and two sisters: Frances Reuter, Platteville; and Helen Cooley, Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorman, on April 15, 1978; her parents; and her brothers, Clarence, Raymond, Guerdon, and Donald Sherwin.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Visitation was held on Monday, March 3, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

Helen Lowell

Helen M. Lowell, age 88 of Lancaster, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Lancaster. She was born December 28, 1927, the daughter of Carl and Alma (Trollop) Graney. Helen graduated from Platteville High School in 1945. She married Robert L. Lowell on August 30, 1952, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. Helen began her career at the former Union State Bank in Lancaster. In 1968, Bob and Helen opened Lowell Plumbing and Heating. She would later be employed at Farmer's Telephone Company for over forty years and then at Pioneer Directories. Helen was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. She enjoyed being a member of the bowling league and received a fifty year recognition award. Bob and Helen spent many years enjoying their cabin at Jay's Landing in Bagley. When Bob passed away in 2002, Helen not only lost the love of her life, but her favorite fishing partner. Helen was a Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan. She dearly loved her family and keeping up with their activities.

Surviving is her daughter: Susan (Ed) Hermsen; three grandsons: Christopher (Claire), Robert (Laura), and John (Madison) Hermsen; four great-grandchildren: Isaac, Emmett, Ashlyn, and Elle Hermsen; and a sister: Shirley Schaal; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carl and Alma Graney, Helen is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert, sisters: Ivanelle (Jack) Tucker, Pat (Arnie) Junk, and Berna Graney; a brother, Dale Graney; and a brother-in-law, Dale Schaal.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 29, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, with Reverend Mark Hoehne Officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Patricia J. Lucey

Patricia J. Lucey, age 72, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

She was born January 17, 1942, the daughter of Arnold and Opal (Redman) Sawvell. Patricia grew up in Prairie du Chien where she attended Prairie du Chien High School. She married Robert J. Lucey and for many years they managed the Lancaster Reddy Mix Plant. Later in life, they lived and worked in La Crosse. After Roberts passing, Patricia returned to Prairie du Chien. Shortly thereafter, she met her special friend Kurt Freter, who also adored her children and grandchildren. Patricia enjoyed being with her family. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers, mowing her yard and taking care of her horse, Reb. Most of all, Patricia enjoyed working with Kurt canning and freezing food from their garden for all of their children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her companion, Kurt Freter; her six children Steve (Teresa) Lucey; Shari (Tracy) Olsen-Kolk; Sandra (Robert) Bradley; Robert Lucey Jr.; Linda (Curt) Kaufman; Scott (Vicki) Lucey; 20 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; her siblings: Diane (Earl) Hansen; Rodney (Kathy) Sawvell; Betty (George) Lane; Roger (Vicki) Sawvell; many nieces and nephews; her brother-in-law, Gary Thorton and many members of the Lucey family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, and her sister, Vicki Thorton.

A private family graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. A celebration of Pats life was held on Friday, August 15, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster. Roger W. Ludwig

Roger W. Ludwig, age 64, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2008 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. He was born on December 16, 1943 in Cook County, IL; the son of William and Theresa (Reynolds) Ludwig. Roger graduated from Barrington, IL High School and attended the University of Illinois. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. Roger moved to Lancaster in 1976. Roger was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. He enjoyed doing artwork, hunting, fishing, and golfing. Roger loved spending time at the Lancaster Country Club and was well-known there.

He is survived by his mother, Theresa Ludwig, Tucson, AZ; his aunt, Catherine Reynolds Leibfried, Lancaster; and five cousins: Helen (Donovan) Krohn, Verona; Robert (Sally) Leibfried, Lancaster; Joan (Leonard) Stich, Morrisville, PA; Katie (Laker Schildgen) Schindler, Lancaster; and Mary (Rodger) Janssen, Lancaster.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, William, his uncle, Walter Leibfried, and his cousin, Tom Leibfried.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Visitation was held on Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be given to Schreiner Memorial Library in Lancaster.

Janet I. Luhman

Janet I. Luhman, age 64, of Lancaster, left this world unexpectedly on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at St. Marys Hospital in Madison. She was born on April 8, 1948, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Joyce and Ralph Knappenberger. Janet was an accomplished artist, seamstress, gardener, lover of nature and a great cook. She also enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends and making many people laugh. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Janet married Dr. Gary Luhman on May 13, 1982. They created a wonderful home on a farm with many pets and animals.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Dr. Gary Luhman, Lancaster; two children: Jennifer (Hugo) Perez-Conde, Vigo, Spain and Nathan (Brandi) Beecher, Madison; a brother, Guy (Arlene) Nelson, Stoughton; three grandchildren: Brittany (Brian) Smith, Brianna Beecher-Smith, and Kyra Miller; one great-grandchild, Cetriece Smith; one step child, Natalie Luhman; her mother-in-law, Mildred Luhman, Lancaster; two nieces: Amy and Shelby; one nephew, Chad; other relatives and many friends.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Megan Nelson.

A Celebration of Janets Life was held on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lancaster Golf and Country Club. Private family burial was held. Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster is serving the family.

Dr. Thomas B. Lundeen

Beulah M. Lyman

Beulah M. Lyman, age 98, of Potosi, died on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Living Oaks Assisted Living in Iola, WI. She was born on January 23, 1912, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Chester and Mae (Pape) Reed. Beulah married Fred Lyman on June 26, 1952, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He died on July 12, 1981. She was a member of the Davies Memorial United Church of Christ in Potosi and participated in its Ruth Circle. Beulah loved her flower gardens and doing arts and crafts. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and a Shriner Lady.

Surviving are many nieces and nephews from the Humbert, Reed, and OConnell families and many members from the Lyman family.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Beulah was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Reed, and two sisters: Irene OConnell and Ethel Reed.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 5, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at Davies Memorial United Church of Christ in Potosi with Pastor Barbara Dunlap-Wolfe officiating. Burial was in the Van Buren Cemetery, Potosi. Family and friends called on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Potosi is assisting the family.

Thomas A. Lyons

Thomas A. Lyons, Sr., age 68 passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA, after a long courageous battle with cancer and chronic health issues. Tom enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps, where he served his country proudly. He was also an active member of the Marine Corps League Dubuque Detachment 101. Tom married Eva A. Stohlmeyer on February 1, 1975. He was employed with A.Y. McDonald, Morrison Bros., Ertl, Dickeyville BP and the zoning administrator for Potosi and Tennyson. Tom was a member of SS. Andrew Thomas Catholic Church, and its Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Surviving is his loving wife of 38 years Eva, their children, Melanie (Michael) Wong, Stephanie (Michael) Small, Joseph (Jaclyn), James (September), Michael (Amber), and Thomas Lyons, Jr., 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, his brother Frank (Karen), and sister in law Virginia Lyons, nieces, nephews and many members of the Stohlmeyer family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Fae (Strong) Lyons, brothers Roy, Donald and Floyd Jr., brother in laws, Paul Stohlmeyer, Ed Wiezorek, and a sister in law Betty Powers.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 10:30 am. at St Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson, with Fr. Richard Leffler officiating. Burial with military honors was in the church cemetery. Friends called of Friday, June 28, 2013 from 4 to 8 pm. and on Saturday morning from 9:30 am until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Potosi is assisting the family. In lieu of plants and flowers a Thomas Lyons memorial fund has been established.

We wish to extend our thanks to U of I Hospitals and Clinics, Dubuque Internal Medicine, Unity Health Care, Dr. Parekh and his nurse Joan, and those who have provided health care to Tom.
